In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugar together using an electric mixer.

Add in the egg and vanilla and blend until combined.

In a separate bowl, whisk the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt together until combined.

Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and blend together.
