GRINCH CRINKLE COOKIES

BEST HOLIDAY TREAT

Soft, buttery homemade Grinch Crinkle Cookies are easy green cookies rolled in sugar and topped with a  little red candy heart.

– all purpose flour – baking powder –  salt – white sugar – eggs – butter  –  vanilla extract –peppermint extract – Green Food Coloring

In a medium mixing bowl, add the flour, baking powder and salt and mix together.

In a separate large mixing bowl, add the butter and sugar and beat on medium speed with an electric mixer

Add the vanilla and peppermint extracts and eggs one at a time, blending after adding.

Add in  dry ingredients gradually, blending after each addition. (careful not to overmix)

Add a few drops of food coloring.

and knead the dough to incorporate the color fully.

With a cookie scoop, scoop tablespoon size scoops, roll into a ball and then roll in white sugar .

Press a heart-shaped candy sprinkle into the center of each dough ball.

Preheat the oven to 375 ° F  Bake for 8 minutes or until the bottoms are very slightly golden brown. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for 2 minutes then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
