This fresh watermelon salsa recipe is refreshing twist on a classic salsa. Bursting with flavor, this is a delicious and healthy dip that's perfect for any get togethers or holiday gatherings
In a large bowl, add the diced watermelon, red onion, jalapeño pepper, and cilantro.
2 cups watermelon, ½ red onion, 1 jalapeno pepper, ½ cup cilantro, 1 garlic clove
Drizzle the lime juice over the top of the mixture and sprinkle with salt.
Juice of one lime, ½ teaspoon salt
Toss gently to combine well.
Refrigerate or serve immediately.
Notes
Add additional diced fruit like mango, peaches or pineapple.
Add diced avocado if desired.
Leave out the jalapeño pepper for a less spicy version or or use red bell pepper instead.
Add a tablespoon of honey or agave for a sweeter flavor.
Use fresh mint instead of cilantro.
Use dried cilantro if you'd Just be sure to use half the amount of dried cilantro as you would fresh cilantro.
Add in a ½ teaspoon of cumin, coriander, or chili powder for even more flavor.
