Homemade Pumpkin Pie Spice

Making your own homemade pumpkin pie spice is very simple and so much cheaper than buying it premixed.

  • 1 ½ Tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 Tablespoon ground ginger
  • 1 ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 ½ teaspoon ground cloves
  • ½ teaspoon allspice


  • Mix all of the spices together in a bowl.
  • Store in an airtight container for up to a year. I used an old small spice container and this recipe filled it perfectly.

What is in allspice spice?

Allspice is the dried brown berry of the tropical Pimenta dioica tree and tastes like a mixture of cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg. If you don’t happen to not have it on hand, you can simply mix ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon, ½ teaspoon ground cloves, and a ¼ teaspoon of ground nutmeg to make your own spice blend of allspice flavors.
