These Almond Butter Brownie Bars are the perfect mixture of deliciousness. Made with all-natural ingredients, they make an ultimate little healthy treat.

Brownie Layer

  • ½ cup coconut sugar honey or agave nectar
  • ½ cup almond meal flour or whole-wheat pastry flour regular whole wheat flour will work fine too
  • ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ cup unsweetened applesauce or melted butter
  • ¼ cup liquid egg whites or 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup chocolate chips

Almond Butter Layer

  • 1 cup almond butter
  • ½ cup coconut sugar or brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons butter melted
  • 1 egg beaten
  • ½ teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ cup chocolate chips


  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Line an square baking dish with parchment paper or grease with coconut oil.
  • Set aside.

Brownie Layer

  • In a bowl, mix the sugar or other sweetener of choice), flour, cocoa powder, baking powder and salt.
  • Add the egg, butter and vanilla extract.
  • Mix together thoroughly.
  • Gently mix in the chocolate chips.
  • Spread in one even layer on the bottom of the baking dish.

Almond Butter Layer

  • In another bowl, mix together all of the almond butter ingredients, except the chocolate chips
  • Mix in the chocolate chips.
  • Carefully drop almond butter mixture in various spots on top of the brownie layer and spread evenly.
  • Bake 30 - 34 minutes or until golden brown on top
  • Let cool.
  • Lift out of the pan by the parchment paper.
  • Cut into squares
  • ENJOY!!
