RED VELVET CREAM CHEESE COOKIES

Red Velvet Crinkle Cookies are soft and gooey cookies with a festive twist on a classic crinkle! This decadent festive cookie is a must make! 

– all-purpose flour – unsweetened cocoa powder – baking powder – salt – unsalted butter – white sugar – eggs – milk –  red food coloring  – vanilla extract – powdered sugar

In a medium bowl, add the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt and whisk together.

In a large mixing bowl, add the softened butter and sugar

beat with an electric mixer until fluffy, about 3 minutes.

Add in the eggs one at a time, scraping down sides of bowl

Add in the milk, food coloring and vanilla extract

Beat until the red coloring is blended

Gradually add in the flour mixture in batches, scraping down sides of  the bowl

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and place in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to chill. 

Preheat oven to  350° F and line baking sheets with parchment paper. Add the powdered sugar to a medium sized bowl.

Using a  cookie scoop, scoop the dough and roll into a ball and place in the powdered sugar and coat thoroughly.

Place them on the lined cookie sheets 2 inches apart. Bake for 12-14 minutes

Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 4-5 minutes. Then transfer them to wire cooling rack to cool completely.
