If you love a sloppy joe, then these Sloppy Joe Sliders are something you are going to want to try. They are easy to make and perfect for a quick dinner or feeding a crowd. Seasoned beef smothered with melted cheese and favorite tangy sauce, what's not to like?
In a large skillet, add the ground beef, red bell pepper, green bell pepper and onion and cook over medium-high heat until beef is browned and veggies are tender.
1 pound lean ground beef, ½ cup red bell pepper, ½ cup green bell pepper, ½ cup onion
Drain off any excess grease into a colander placed over a bowl.
Make the sloppy joe mixture
Add the bbq sauce, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, chili powder, and garlic and heat over medium heat for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the mixture thickens slightly.
Slice the Hawaiian rolls in half and place 6 slices of cheddar on the bottom buns.

Then spread beef mixture evenly over the cheese layer.
Top the meat mixture with the remaining 6 slices of cheese and place the top buns on.
Brush the bun tops with the melted butter and sprinkle with a little sesame seeds if desired.

Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.

Swap the ground beef for ground turkey or ground chicken or even non-meat vegetarian crumbles if desired.Use all red bell pepper or all green bell peppers if desired.Add jalapeno peppers or crushed red pepper flakes to the meat mixture for a spicier version.Use dijon mustard if you'd like.Add a teaspoon of onion powder to the melted butter that you brush on the tops of the rollsAdd a few tablespoons of tomato paste with a little extra water if desired.Use any kind of cheese.
