A classic breakfast treat, these baked powdered sugar donuts are soft, fluffy, and melt-in-your-mouth delicious! They’re easy to make with simple ingredients and no frying required. Just mix, bake, and coat in powdered sugar.
Pre-heat oven at 350° F and spray a donut pan with non-stick cooking spray (or coat with oil or butter).
In a medium bowl, add the milk, yogurt, maple syrup, and apple cider vinegar and vanilla extract and stir to combine.
⅔ cup whole milk, 1 ½ tablespoons vanilla Greek yogurt, 1 tablespoon maple syrup, 1 ½ teaspoon apple cider vinegar, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
In a large bowl, add the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt and toss to blend.
1 ½ cups all-purpose flour, ½ cup sugar, 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder, ½ teaspoon salt
Slowly pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and gently stir. Be careful not to over mix or the donuts will be more dense. The batter will be slightly thick and airy.
Pour the batter into a large piping bag or a basic plastic zip closure bag, cut the tip off the end and fill each hole about ¾ full. You can also carefully spoon the batter into each hole.
Bake for 10-12 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Remove from the oven and let them cool in the pan for about 5 minutes then remove from the pan and place on a wire cooling rack. Add the powdered sugar while they are still
Coat in powdered sugar. While the donuts are still a little warm, add the powdered sugar to a small bowl or shallow plate. Place each donut in the sugar and coat both sides well. Or place the powdered sugar in another plastic baggie and add the donuts one at a time to and shake to coat well. Tip: slightly dampen the donuts by brushing with a little water, oil or melted butter if the sugar is not sticking.
1 cup powdered sugar
