These apple pie crescent rolls are the easiest way to enjoy warm, gooey apple pie in a handheld treat! Made with just a few ingredients of crescent roll dough, sliced apples, and a buttery cinnamon-sugar, they bake up in under 15 minutes.
8ouncecan of refrigerated crescent roll dough8 count
¼cuppacked brown sugar
1teaspoonwhite sugar
1teaspooncinnamon
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375°F and lightly grease a baking sheet or line with parchment paper
In medium bowl, add the butter and microwave for 15 seconds then stir until melted.
4 tablespoons butter
Add the brown sugar, granulated sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl and stir together.
¼ cup packed brown sugar, 1 teaspoon white sugar, 1 teaspoon cinnamon
Slice the apple into 8 slices. (I cut it in half and then slice each half in half again. Then each of those pieces in half again.
1 small apple
Place the apple slices in the melted butter and stir to coat evenly.
Sprinkle the sugar mixture evenly over each of the dough triangles.
Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate the 8 triangles and place them on the baking sheet.
8 ounce can of refrigerated crescent roll dough
Place an apple slice on the largest end of the dough.
Starting at the end with the apple slice, roll the apple up in the dough completely. Then pinch the sides together to close as much as possible. (this will help with any sugar leaking out as much).
Place the on the baking sheet and brush the tops with the remaining melted butter. Bake for 11-12 minutes until golden brown.
Remove from the oven and immediately remove from the baking sheet so any leaked melted sugar doesn't harden.
Sprinkle baked crescents with granulated sugar or a mixture of ½ sugar and ½ cinnamon if you'd like.
Enjoy plain or topped with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
Notes
Use any apple you prefer. I would not use Golden delicious as they tend to get a little mushier.Use about a 1 to 1 ½ tablespoons of apple pie filling instead of fresh apples. You can peel the apples if you’d like.Use apple pie spice in place of cinnamon.
