This Slow Cooker Honey Garlic Chicken is a simple and absolutely delicious meal to have ready when you get home in the evening. Serve over rice with a side of broccoli or zucchini.
2poundschicken breastsboneless, skinless, cut into 1 inch cubes
¾ cuphoney
½cupsoy sauce
4clovesgarlicminced
1.5tablespoonscornstarch
2teaspoonschili oil aka chili crisp or chili crisp oil, found in Asian section of the grocery stores * see notes for options
1teaspoononion powder
sliced green onion and sesame seedsoptional garnishes
Instructions
Place the chicken in the bottom of the slow cooker.
2 pounds chicken breasts
In a medium bowl, add the honey, soy sauce, cornstarch, garlic, chili crisp, onion powder and stir together.
¾ cup honey, ½ cup soy sauce, 4 cloves garlic, 1.5 tablespoons cornstarch, 2 teaspoons chili oil, 1 teaspoon onion powder
Pour over the chicken in the crock pot.
Cover with the lid and cook on LOW heat for 4-5 hours until the chicken is cooked through and reaches an internal temperature of 165° F.
Serve over rice and garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds if desired.

Notes
Use whole chicken breasts, tenderloins or thighs.Swap the onion powder for ¼ cup fresh white onion.If you don’t have chili crisp, use sesame oil mixed with a ¼ teaspoon of cayenne pepper, red pepper flakes, or even sriracha. Adjust the heat to your personal preference.Since slow cookers pay vary, be sure to check it and stir it about halfway through to make sure it’s not overcooking. If the sauce his too thick, add in 2 tablespoons of water or chicken broth.
