This Homemade Emerils Essence is a low salt version of the fabulous original. It is so easy to whip up and add that little extra flavor to your dishes.

I used to buy Emeril’s Essence often. I love that signature BAM of flavor. But my hubby doesn’t like a lot salt in his diet so it hasn’t been around for a long time.  Making our own homemade taco seasoning has been awesome!

Homemade Emerils Essence

I was looking for some new recipes this weekend and came across his recipe and decided to whip up a low salt version for us.

I also cut back a little on the cayenne pepper since my daughter isn’t a huge extra spices lover. Feel free to add up to a one tablespoon for your own “hot” liking.

I grilled up some delicious turkey burgers for lunch the other day using this homemade Emeril’s Essence.  Come back for that recipe on Wednesday.

INGREDIENTS

2 1/2 tablespoons paprika

2 tablespoons garlic powder

1 tablespoon onion powder

1 tablespoon dried oregano

1 tablespoon dried thyme

1/2 tablespoon cayenne pepper

1 tablespoon black pepper

1 teaspoon salt

Homemade Emerils Essence fb Spice Spoon 3

DIRECTIONS

Combine all ingredients in a small bowl; stir until well combined.

Transfer to an airtight container.

My son loves to cook with Emeril’s Essence. I’ll have to make him this lower salt version. Thanks for sharing!

This spice mix sounds good! I’m a fan of Emeril but we can’t get his spice mixes here in the UK so I’m really pleased to see your recipe. Also love that it is lower in salt, Sherri. Thank you so much for sharing with us at Hearth and Soul. Scheduled to pin and share on our Hearth and Soul Facebook page.
