Air Fryer Brussel Sprouts Ingredients Notes
Below is a list of the ingredients you’ll need to gather to make this easy recipe. Scroll down to the full recipe card for individual amounts.
- Brussels sprouts – You can use fresh or frozen sprouts. Frozen will take a little longer and may not get quite as crispy.
- Butter, melted – Salted or unsalted
- Garlic – Fresh minced is best but you can use jarred minced garlic or even a tablespoon of garlic powder if that’s all you have.
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Parmesan cheese – I love freshly grated but you can use any favorite brand.
Variations to Try
- Swap the butter for olive oil for a dairy-free option.
- Add a sprinkle of red pepper flakes or cayenne for some heat.
- Drizzle with balsamic vinegar, balsamic glaze or maple syrup.
- Use pecorino, asiago, or even cheddar cheese for different flavors.
- Use other spices such as paprika, chili powder, or lemon pepper.
- Add bacon bits the last 2-3 minutes. I like to use microwave bacon and crumble it over top.
How to Make Air Fryer Brussels Sprouts
Step 1: Trim the stem end off of each of the brussels sprout and peel off any leaves with brown spots on them. Chop brussels sprouts in halves, lengthwise. Then place them in a large bowl.
Step 2: Add melted butter, garlic, salt, and pepper, and toss to coat.
Step 3: Next, add in the parmesan cheese and stir to coat well.
Step 4: Preheat the air fryer to 375° F. Add the Brussels sprouts to the air fryer basket in a single layer and cook for 6 minutes or until golden brown. Shake the basket halfway through cooking. (Be sure to not overcrowd the air fryer basket so they cook evenly and get more crispy.)
Step 4: Sprinkle with extra parmesan if you’d like.
Pro Tips:
- Check the Brussels sprouts after 4 minutes to ensure they are cooking evenly.
- Adjust the cooking time depending on the size of the sprouts. You may need to add more time for larger sprouts
How to Store Leftover Brussel sprouts
- Refrigerate: Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Freeze: Brussels sprouts can be frozen. Place them in a single layer on a baking sheet and flash freeze for about 30 minutes. Then place them in freezer bag and freeze for 2-3 months.
- Reheating: Reheat them in the air fryer at 350°F for 3-5 minutes until heated through.
