A tempting bowl of strawberry popcorn delights with its unique blend of corn syrup, sugar, and strawberry gelatin.

This strawberry popcorn recipe is a great sweet and salty snack that my kids love. Also called Jello popcorn, it’s so easy and fun to make with a simple strawberry jello topping.

    Easy Strawberry Flavored Popcorn

Making this sweet popcorn recipe is one of our new favorite ways to dress up popcorn for a movie night or just a fruity snack.

Although I used bagged popcorn this time, homemade popcorn on the stovetop, popcorn kernels in an air popper, or homemade microwave popcorn are all great alternatives.

You can of course what out the jello flavor for any that you’d like. It makes a great treat for so many holidays.

The complete list of ingredients with amounts are listed in the full recipe card below.

A bottle of Karo corn syrup, Pop Secret popcorn, a stick of butter, a bowl of sugar, and a box of strawberry Jell-O are arranged on a white surface.
    • Popcorn – I popped a regular-sized bag of microwave popcorn.
    • Butter – Use your choice of salted or unsalted butter.
    • Granulated Sugar
    • Strawberry Jello Mix – one 3 ounce box is all you need.
    • Corn Syrup – this helps to give it the extra crunch once it cools. You can swap this for honey or maple syrup too but the color may change a little.

    Popcorn Add-In Ideas

Step 3 – In a small pot, add the butter and melt over medium heat. Then, add in the dry jello mix, sugar and corn syrup and stir until it comes to a slow boil.

Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 4-5 minutes, stirring often, until sugar and jello are dissolved and it begins to thicken.

Popcorn spread on parchment paper, drizzled with bright red strawberry syrup in a rectangular pattern.

Step 6 – Drizzle the mixture over the popcorn and stir with a spoon to coat the popcorn.

Bake for 5 minutes the remove from the oven and stir again.

    Cool slightly before eating.

    How to Store?

This strawberry popcorn is best when eaten right away. You can store any leftovers in an airtight container on the countertop for a 2-3 days but the texture may change.
