Simple Ingredients Needed
- Coffee ice cream – A yummy ice cream that can also be eaten on its own! Although using coffee ice cream gives the most robust flavor, you can substitute scoops of vanilla ice cream for a milder coffee flavor.
- Coffee or espresso – You can use either, as long as it’s cold. Espresso typically has less caffeine than your regular cup of coffee.
- Whole milk – Can substitute with other milk dairy or non dairy, keeping in mind it may not be as rich.
How to Make this Milkshake
This recipe will come together in 2 easy steps! Seriously, that’s it. You’ll be enjoying this milkshake in just a minute!
Place all 3 ingredients in a blender.
Blend on high speed until fully combined.
Pour into your serving glass and garnish with optional whipped cream or chocolate syrup if desired.
Variations To Try
1: Substitute chocolate ice cream or add a tablespoon of cocoa powder for a coffee chocolate milkshake.
2. Make a coffee milkshake without ice cream by swapping the ice cream for 2 cups of ice, an additional one cup of milk and ¼ cup sugar.
Tips
- Top with whipped cream, chocolate syrup, or caramel syrup.
- Use 2 tablespoons of any instant coffee powder if you don’t have brewed coffee already on hand.
- Use refrigerated cold brew or cold coffee that you brewed earlier in the day for extra convenience.
- Add 2 tablespoons of chocolate syrup or a ½ cup of chocolate chips for a coffee chocolate milkshake
- Add 2 tablespoons of caramel syrup for a caramel coffee milkshake.
- Use decaffeinated coffee if desired.
How do I make a milkshake without a blender?
You’ll need to soften your ice cream a bit in the microwave, using a microwave safe jar, then mix together with remaining ingredients. It won’t be as cold, thick, and luxurious as a regular milkshake, but the flavors will all be there.
