These Easter Cookies are packed with pastel M&Ms and chocolate chips and topped with more M&Ms shaped into a bunny. They are so fun to make for Easter family gatherings!

Festive Easter Cookie Recipe
My kids have always loved making little Easter treats every year. These Easter Egg rice krispie treats and these egg shaped fruit pizza cookies and resurrection rolls are all traditions we have made many times over the years.
These easy cookies start as a simple chocolate chip cookies base with added candy in them and the adorable bunny shape on the tops are such a cute extra touch!

Ingredients You’ll Need
Below is a list of the ingredients you’ll need to gather to make this recipe. Scroll down to the full recipe card for the specific amounts.
- Butter (salted & softened) – I use salted but you can use unsalted as well. If using unsalted butter, add an extra ¼ teaspoon of salt.
- White & brown sugar – A mix of sugars gives them the perfect chewiness and adds a slight caramel flavor.
- Egg – I like to let it come to room temperature for a few minutes.
- Vanilla extract – Use pure vanilla instead of imitation for better flavor.
- All-purpose flour – Any favorite brand you’d like. Just be sure either scoop it from the bag and into the measuring up and level it off with a knife. Or use a kitchen scale.
- Baking soda & salt – Helps the cookies rise.
- Easter M&Ms & chocolate chips – I love both in mine!
How to Make Easter Cookies with M&M’s
Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter, white sugar, and brown sugar together on medium speed for 1-2 minutes until light and fluffy. (You can use a hand mixer or a stand mixer with the paddle attachment).
Add the egg and vanilla extract, then mix until well combined.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, blending until just combined. But sure to scape down the sides as you mix and be careful not to overmix!
Gently fold in Easter-colored M&Ms and chocolate chips to distribute evenly throughout the dough.
Use a cookie scoop to place evenly sized dough balls onto the prepared baking sheet.
Bake for 9-10 minutes until they are slightly brown around the edges.
After removing from the oven, immediately press M&Ms on top and then let them cool completely.
For a bunny-themed look, cut M&Ms in half and place them on the cookies to resemble bunny ears.
Can I use different candy instead of M&Ms?
Absolutely! Try adding pastel sprinkles or even chopped mini Cadbury eggs.
How do I make these cookies chewier?
Use more brown sugar than white sugar, and slightly underbake them for an extra soft texture.
