Making creamy, deliciously healthy Overnight Oats is as simple mixing ingredients together and refrigerating overnight for the perfect no hassle breakfast.

a mason jar with oatmeal and a spoon

I have finally discovered the glory of overnight oats! Where have I been you glorious little wonderful creaminess?

This seriously is an ingenious time-saving idea! Especially for making sure you get a healthy breakfast with absolutely no problem.

5 minutes and a few ingredients and you are set!

Just simply mix all the ingredients together and put in a mason jar or other container.  Place it in the refrigerator overnight and grab in the morning. It’s that easy!

In the morning, the oats have soften and become oh so creamy.  You can eat it right out of the container or heat it up real quick if you prefer.

I have been an oatmeal eater for a long, long time and eat them every.single.day. For breakfast and usually as my last snack of the day. (yep I have a healthy bedtime snack every night)

But it wasn’t until this past December that I first but peanut butter in my oatmeal.  Let me tell you, it was an ah-ha moment for me!  A lick my bowl moment.  So it goes without saying that my favorite overnight oats to make is Peanut Butter Raisin (recipe below).  It’s like having an oatmeal cookie for breakfast.

    Ingredients for healthy Overnight Oats

The wonderful thing about overnight oats is their versatility too.  You can mix in any of your favorite ingredients and change it up as much as you’d like.

Just use the base of oats, milk and yogurt. Then add any fruits or nuts & nut butters) you’d like. The possibilities are endless!

Make several at one time to be extra prepared for the whole week.

    Ingredients for Overnight Oats

for Peanut Butter Raisin Overnight Oats

    (for 1 serving)

½ cup old fashioned rolled oats

¼ cup cups milk of choice (unsweetened vanilla almond milk is fabulous)  Use ½ cup if leaving out the yogurt.

¼ cup nonfat plain greek yogurt (optional but makes it so creamy)

1 tablespoons all natural peanut butter (or almond butter)

    2 tablespoons raisins

    ½ teaspoon cinnamon

    1 teaspoon of honey, optional

    How to Make Overnight Oats

Add oats, milk of choice, and greek yogurt to a medium bowl and stir until well combined or simply mix the ingredients in the mason jar.

Stir in raisins, peanut butter and cinnamon

Pour into a mason jar or other container, cover and place in refridgerator overnight.

When ready to eat, simply stir a little, heat if desired and ENJOY your healthy breakfast at your fingertips!

Have I convinced you to give overnight oats a try?  I am hooked for life!

I have several friends who swear by this method and it always sounded like such a hassle, but now I have to try it! Gonna use sunflower butter and coconut milk instead. Thanks for the idea!

I never added yogurt to my overnight oats. I got a delicious vegan one that will surely make it even more delicious.
      Thanks for the tip!

I’ve made overnight oats a few times, but not with peanut butter and not with Greek yogurt. But I’m definitely going to try this now. Thanks!

Thanks Sherri! This sounds really good! We have overnight oats almost every day and look so forward to it! Can’t wait to try this as I tried another peanut butter one that was quite tasteless. We love the orange dreamscicle with the Mandarin oranges from the Hungry Girl website. She has several great ones! Thanks for this and any others! You Rock once again!! Kathy
