The heat is ON here in New England right now. We wait many months for this fabulous Summer weather! Highs in the high 80’s and low 90’s are among us for the next few weeks! Woohoo! We spend as much time outside as absolutely possible.
This homemade raspberry blueberry lemonade is such a refreshing drink for quenching your thirst on hot days. It’s the perfect combination of sweet, tart and citrus. You can adjust the flavors to your own liking.
It’s also an fabulous addition to any BBQ or family gathering you are hosting this Summer. It’s funny how a pretty pitcher of lemonade is a go-to on a buffet table.
Make a huge batch of lemonade, grill up some amazing chicken, make some fruit salad and potato salad or pasta salad.
INGREDIENTS, Serves: 8-10 cups 8 cups water
1 cup fresh blueberries
1 cup fresh raspberries
1 cup fresh lemon juice (5 large lemons or 10 small lemons)
½ cup honey or sugar (adjusted to your liking)
DIRECTIONS
Add the blueberries, raspberries and 1 cup of water to a blender and blend to a smooth liquidy consistency.
Pour this mixture through a – mesh strainer, using a spoon to push the liquid through if needed.
Add 7 cups of water to a pitcher. Then add the raspberry/blueberry mixture, lemon juice, and sugar.
Stir and serve over ice. Garnish with extra lemon, raspberries and blueberries.
