Pork Tenderloin with Apples on a white plate

This easy Pork Tenderloin with Apples recipe in a slow cooker is perfect for busy weeknights and no fuss weekends. Classic fall flavors such as onions, rosemary and apples compliment the juicy tenderloin slow cooked to perfection in a tasty broth.

Simple homemade tenderloin recipes are one of my favorite things to make in a crock pot. It’s a combination of the convenience and the end result of the tender and moist pork that make Balsamic Garlic Pork Tenderloin and this amazing Slow Cooker Pork Tenderloin among two of my other favorites.

    • What to serve with Apple Pork Tenderloin

The marriage between fresh apples and pork is built on a strong foundation of taste and texture. The low fat, lean, fork-tender pork is balanced with the slightly acidic sweet apples which is only elevated by mouthwatering aromatic Rosemary.

With the hustle and bustle of the holidays around the corner, this is one recipe you will want to keep in mind. It is a quick and easy preparation, made with simple ingredients and can serve a crowd! Serve this dish for Thanksgiving or Christmas to add a little convenience to your party planning!

Of course you do not need a special occasion to prepare this warm comforting meal, it will become a family favorite and a go-to dinner any night of the week. Anticipating coming home to a flavorful meal after a long day is just one of life’s simple joys. And sharing it with the ones you love just makes it that much sweeter!

How to make Slow Cooker Apple Pork Tenderloin

Lightly grease the bottom of the slow cooker with oil and place sliced onion on the bottom.

Place tenderloin on top of the onion and the apple slices on top of the pork.

raw apple slices on top of an uncooked pork tenderloin

Sprinkle dried or fresh Rosemary over the pork.

Pour chicken stock over everything and cook according to your time preference. On high for a shorter period or low for longer, you choose!

Let it rest before slicing to retain the juice!

Pro Tips: Give the tenderloin a quick sear before putting in the slow cooker. It will give it a nice outer colour and a slight crust and will add another layer of flavor.

Use the remaining broth to make a sauce or gravy. Add a little flour to thicken it up and season to your liking or leave as is and use the juice for a thinner sauce. Whatever you do, do not let that deliciousness go to waste!

Cut up some extra veggies and add them to the pot. Carrots, potatoes, celery, you name it. Keep them as bigger pieces to avoid mushy veggies in the end.

What is the difference between pork loin and pork tenderloin?

As you might have guessed, sometimes there is a confusion between the two. There is a difference, however, and it’s important to note! Pork tenderloin and pork loin are not cut from the same part of the animal. They are not usually used interchangeably in recipes as they result in different flavor and texture. Pork tenderloin is a lean longer cut of meat, made from muscle. Pork loin is a larger cut of meat more reminiscent of a roast.

What are the best apples to cook with pork?

I use my favorite Gala apples when I make this slow cooker recipe, but these other apples are great to cook with as well:

    • Braeburn
    • Cameo
    • Cortland
    • Empire
    • Fuji
    • Granny Smith – more tart
    • Honey crisp

What to serve with Apple Pork Tenderloin

Serve this yumminess with rice, sweet potatoes or roasted potatoes and a vegetable such as peas, roasted broccoli, asparagus or roasted green beans.

Yummy and easy! Too much rosemary for me, but everyone else loved it as is. I added bbq sauce to my slice and yum yum.

My neighbour gave me a ton of apples from her tree. I’ve already made a few apple crisps. This will do the trick nicely with the rest. Thank you.
