These oven Baked Sweet Potato Fries are an amazing, healthy side dish. They are perfectly seasoned and lightly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.
These are almost too easy to call a recipe (like these easy roasted potatoes or these Greek lemon potatoes). But when I love something as much as we love these, they must be shared.
Baked Sweet Potato Fries
If there is one favorite vegetable in our house, it’s sweet potatoes. We have them roasted, mashed, and baked as these yummy fries. Baking them gives us a much lower calorie option than frying them up.
The key to making the perfect sweet potato fries is to make sure they are not touching on your baking sheet. If they are overlapping at all, they will let of steam and turn out much softer. Use two baking sheets if you need to.
Also, using parchment paper on the baking sheet as well will help ensure the much desired crispiness. I didn’t have any for this time baking them and they still turned out great though!
You can even play around with the seasoning you like too. Replace the garlic and paprika with cinnamon and a little nutmeg.
Now, let’s be honest here. Oven baked sweet potato fries are not going to be as crispy as our ultra fried friends you find at your favorite burger joint. But they are a wonderful, healthy alternative.
